About Allercrom Forte Eye Drop

SODIUM CROMOGLYCATE belongs to a group of medications called ‘antiallergics’ used to treat allergic rhinitis, prevention of asthma and conjunctivitis (pink eye). Allergic rhinitis (hay fever) is a type of seasonal allergies characterized by a runny nose, sneezing, red, watery, itchy, and swollen eyes occurring due to exposure to allergens. Asthma is a condition in which the airways gets narrowed and swollen, resulting in difficulty breathing, coughing, and wheezing (whistling sound).

SODIUM CROMOGLYCATE contains ‘sodium cromoglycate’, which reduces the inflammation of the airways in the lungs. It prevents the release of a natural allergy-causing agent called 'histamine' that plays an important role in inflammation. Thus, it prevents inflammation, and allergic symptoms caused to the allergens, minimizing breathing complications in asthma and other respiratory allergic conditions.

Uses of Allercrom Forte Eye Drop

Allergic rhinitis, Asthma, Conjunctivitis

Medicinal Benefits of Allercrom Forte Eye Drop

SODIUM CROMOGLYCATE contains ‘sodium cromoglycate’, an ‘anti-inflammatory’ or ‘anti-allergy agent’ used to treat allergic rhinitis symptoms and prevent flare-ups of asthma. It is a mast cell stabilizer that acts on mast cells (immune cells that cause inflammation). When an allergen enters the body, the mast cells activate and degranulate releasing chemicals that cause allergy symptoms. SODIUM CROMOGLYCATE can effectively prevent mast cell degranulation and thus result in the reduction of allergic symptoms.

Directions for Use

SODIUM CROMOGLYCATE is available in the form of the following dosage forms: nasal spray, eye drops, and inhalation. Nasal spray: If you are using the nasal spray for the first time or have not used the medicine for 5 days or longer, you have to prime the spray. It means you have to spray out some of the medicine before use by squeezing the bottle. Shake the nasal spray well before each use. Blow your nose to clear the nostrils. Then, keep your head upright while spraying the medicine into each nostril. After using, wipe the tip of the bottle and close the cap tightly. Do not use more frequently or exceed 2 applications in 24 hours, unless you are advised by your doctor. Eye drops: Wash your hands thoroughly with water before and after use. Tilt your head back and pull down the lower eyelid to create a small sac. Take the prescribed amount of dose with the dropper and squeeze out a drop. Close your eyes for about 2 to 3 minutes. Wipe any excess liquid with a tissue. Do not wipe or rinse the dropper tip after use. Place the dropper back on the bottle and tighten the cap. While using eye drops, ensure that you do not touch the tip of the dropper as it may contaminate the contents. Do not place the tip directly into the eye while instilling drops. If the dropper touches the eye, immediately squeeze two to three drops onto the tissue and wipe the dropper’s tip with saltwater. Inhalation: SODIUM CROMOGLYCATE is available as inhalation is taken using the device ‘metered-dose inhaler’ or ‘nebulizer. Discard the vial if there is an unused solution once it is opened.
